March Favourites

Makeup Favourites

Maybelline Fit me Concealer

My first favourite of this month is this Maybelline concealer. This is my favourite because it gives a light coverage which I am preferring at the moment. This product is also great because it comes in an array of shades light to dark. Even for my pale skin there is a shade. I have the shade 15 and this retails at £5.99

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Lipstick

Swatches of Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Lipstick in 120 Desirable
My favourite lip product of this month has to be this Estee Lauder lipstick. This is my favourite because it is super moisturizing and stays well. My lips have been very dry this month because of the change of weather so I have been preferring this lipstick to others. The shade I have is 120 Desirable. This retails at £24.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I have been enjoying a more skin kissed look this month. To create that I have been using the Benefit Hoola bronzer. This is a great bronzer because it isn't too orange for my skin and it is very pigmented. A little bit goes a long way. This is also great for contouring. This retails at £23.50

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer Highlighter

I have also been enjoying very highlighter cheeks. To achieve this I have been using this highlighter. The colour of this highlighter is champagne. This is also very pigmented and a little bit creates a strong highlight so I would be careful when applying it. This retails at £17.50

Anastasia Brow Pomade

To do my brows this month I have been using the Anastasia Brow Pomade every single day. I love this product because you can create very bold or very natural brows depending on how much you use of the product. The shade I have (which is Blonde) also matches my hair perfectly. I also love this product because it has no red tone in it and it is completely cool tone. This retails at £15

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Recently I have been noticing that my eyeshadow has been fading during the day. So I decided to buy an eye primer. I have very veiny eyelids. So I picked up the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion in Eden. This is a flesh tone eyeshadow primer which covers any veins or discolouration you may have. This is great because it makes your eyeshadow last all day. This retails at £16.

Skin Care Favorites

Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

I have been enjoying this cleanser this month. It has a balmy feel to it and then when you put it on your skin it turns to an oil consistency. This has been great for my dry skin, this is also great for my slightly sensitive skin because of the calming camomile scent. This retails at £12.

Body Shop Body Butter in Blueberry

I love the Body Shop Body Butters. Personally they are a holy grail product. Recently I have been enjoying the blueberry scent. This is lovely because it has a fruity scent which I love. It also keeps my skin moisturized all day. This retails at £13

Hair Care Favourites

Fudge Urban Iced Raspberry & Vanilla Hair Spray

I like to have a bit of hold in my hair and recently I have been enjoying this product. First of all can we just mention the packaging it is so nice with it's bright pink and orange can. This is a great hairspray because it has a light hold which doesn't give your hair that crispy feeling. This also smells great with a fruity scent. This retails at £4.99

Current Top 5 Foundations

5) Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

At number 5,  is my beloved Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. This is a great foundation because it is dewy and it has a medium coverage. The only downfall with this foundation is that the shade range isn't big enough. I have to be a bit more tanned to wear this because otherwise it is a bit too dark for me and this is the lightest shade. The shade I have is 51. This retails at £9.99

4) Revlon Colourstay Foundation For Combination/Oily Skin

At number 4, is my Revlon Colourstay Foundation. This is a wonderful option because it has a complete matte finish and lasts all day. You can also get medium to full coverage with this. The faults with this is that it can cling to dry patches and get cakey quickly. This shade matches me perfectly which is a bonus. I have the colour 150 Buff. This retails at £12.49

3) Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude

At number 3, is my Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation. This is great for everyday because it feels like you have nothing on the skin and looks very natural. It also feels like it has a water base to it. This has a light to medium coverage. The downfall with this is that you can't build it up in areas because it then becomes a bit patchy. This shade matches well to my skin. The shade I have is 10 Ivory. This retails at £5.99

2) Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

At number 2 is my much loved Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. This is great for everyday wear because it is very thin. This makes it look very natural. This has a light to medium coverage. The only downfall for this is that it doesn't last like the other foundations and I get a bit oily with this one.  This shade matches me perfectly. I have the shade 110 Ivory. This retails at £8.99

1) Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

At Number 1, is my Nars sheer Glow foundation. This is a wonderful foundation, it is dewy and has a medium to full coverage. Even though this is dewy it doesn't look oily at all. This shade matches me perfectly and lasts all day. I have the shade Mont Blanc. This retails at £31. I know this is quite a bit more expensive than the other ones but it is so worth it.

Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit

Whether your a makeup newbie or an experienced user there is always something new that you could try, hopefully my Drugstore starter kit will help you find a new beauty for your collection.

Face Products

Primer

First I am going to start off with primer. The Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur is a perfect starting point to your makeup because it makes your makeup apply a lot better than if you don't have one. This claims to smooth, and minimize the appearance of pores. I agree that this product does that. It also has a slight iridescent to it which makes the face look more dewy and awake. This product retails at £12.99

Foundation

The foundation I would start off with would be the Revlon Nearly Naked. This is a lovely foundation because it is a light/medium coverage which is enough for every day use. It is also quite dewy which makes me look a lot more awake than one that is matte. I have the shade 110 Ivory and this retails at £8.99

Concealer and Powder

The concealer I chose is the very famous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This is a brilliant concealer because it is very high coverage which covers nasty spots and any discolouration you may have. This concealer is also great for cover under eye circles. I have the shade Fair and this retails at £4.19. The powder I chose was the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This is personally my favourite powder ever because it keeps my shine at bay all day and doesn't cling to any dry patches I may have. I have the shade translucent and this retails at £3.99

Bronzer/Blush/Highlighter

My bronzer/blush/highlight pick is the Sleek Face Form Kit. This is a wonderful kit because it has all three in one place, which makes it good for travel and every day use. The quality of all three are amazing. But I would be careful with the bronzer if you are very fair because if you apply a bit too much it could look like you've been tangoed (not a good look!). The shade I have mine in is 373 light and this retails at £9.99

Eye Products

Eye Primer/Eye Shadow

Personally I think eye primer is a must because it helps your eyeshadow last and helps with creasing. The primer I would recommend would be the Elf Eye Primer in Champagne. Even though it says it is tinted I don't find that it shows up on the eye lids. This helps my eyeshadows last all day. This retails at £3.50. For your first eyshadow palette I would always recommend a Sleek palette. Especially the Storm palette. This has a range of shades to nudes to dark greens. This is a very versatile palette which is great for any makeup lover! This retails at £7.99

Eyeliner

For eyeliner I would recommend the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliners. The shades I have are 005 Nude and 001 Black. These are great because they last all day and don't smudge or run even in the waterline! The nude pencil is great for making your eyes look bigger and more awake. The black is great for tight lining and creating a smoky effect to the eye. These retail at £3.99 each.
For liquid liner I would recommend the Soap and Glory Supercat Felt Tip Liner. The felt tip pen helps create a very precise line. With this product you can create a very thin cat eye liner or a very dramatic one. This is wonderful because it is super black and lasts all day. It has a slightly glossy finish to it. This retails at £6.00

Mascara

My choice of mascara is the Loreal Volume Million Lashes. This creates a lot of volume to the lashes and a lot of length and separation. I don't experience any running with this mascara which is great. I have this is black and this retails at £10.99

Eyebrows

To create the perfect defined brow I would use the Elf eye brow kit, this has a wax and a powder. This creates defined yet natural brows. The shade of this matches my hair perfectly. The shade I have is Ash. This retails at 2.79. To set my brows I would use Maybelline's Brow Drama Mascara in Dark Blond. This is good because it sets brow hairs and place and adds a little more colour to the brows. This retails at £4.99

Lip liner/Lipstick/ Lip-gloss

Swatches, top to bottom: Rimmel Kate Matte lipstick in 101, No7 Lipliner in Nude, and Tanya Burr Lip-gloss in Afternoon Tea

For a first timer in makeup up I would go for a nude lip. Here are some great options. First is the Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 101. This is a light pink shade. This lasts well on the lips and is a great shade for pale skin. This retails at £5.49. The lip liner I would recommend would be No7's in Nude, this goes great under any lipstick or lip-gloss. This helps feathering and makes your lip colour last longer. This retails at £6.75. The lip-gloss I would recommend wound be Tanya Burr's lip-gloss in Afternoon Tea, this is a pretty pink shade which is suitable for everyday wear. This lip-gloss smells great and also lasts a long time. This retails at £6.99
